Revised Budget Proposals Released
The revised budget for the 2014-2015 school year has been released and can be viewed on the VSB website. This is another challenging year for trustees as there is a large shortfall that will need to be addressed. For information on how you can give feedback to the budget proposals, please refer to the VSB website where the preliminary budget proposals are the fourth link down in the first box.

Are You Moving and Need to Move Schools?
If you have moved or plan to move over the summer, please let the office know as soon as possible in order to help us plan for next year. It is important to register at your new neighbourhood school as soon as possible.
Grade 8 Transition
The Grade 7 to Grade 8 transition process has begun. For complete Grade 8 registration procedures please refer to the VSB website registration page.
Registration for Kindergarten 2014 began on November 1. This year, all families will need to register their child at their English catchment school, including those who want to go to choice programs. For more information on the kindergarten registration process please contact the school or visit the VSB website registration page.
Reporting Your Child Will be Late or Absent
Earlier in the year we had tried to keep the safe arrival phone number up and running. As of January we are no longer able to do that. If your child is going to be absent or late, please call the main line at 604-713-5245. Thank you.
Inner City Revisioning in the VSB
The Vancouver School Board has submitted recommendations to the trustees for revisioning of inner city support in Vancouver schools. Thank you to Sue Montgomery and Eve Griblin for representing the PAC at the Committee III meeting on February 26. Sue made a presentation to the committee for consideration. The trustees voted to accept the recommendations in March. As a result, General Brock will no longer receive enhanced supports. The positions at Brock that were linked to the inner city funding are the Youth and Family Worker, The Project Teacher, and the Staff Assistant. As a result, the school will be consulted regarding immediate needs and our lunch program will also be reviewed in the 2014-2015 school year.
For anyone shopping at Nesters, Brock school is their current charity. All donated “Nesters points” are collected into an account which the PAC can use to purchase supplies for special events, such as the upcoming Family BBQ. Please consider donating your points when shopping at Nesters, thank you!
Lost and Found
If your child has lost an item of clothing or a backpack, please take a look in our "Lost and Found" container that is located in the lunch room by the doors closest to the office. Thank you. To help lost items make their way back home it is a good idea to label children's clothing, backpacks and lunch containers.
If you would like to participate in the lunch program, please pick up the monthly registration forms outside the main office. To take a look at our current menu click here.
