Principal's Message
Welcome to the Brock Elementary website. At General Brock we focus on the success of each child by providing high quality learning experiences in a welcoming and safe environment. Our school goal is to improve our students' reading abilities at all grade levels by tracking, monitoring and providing best-practice teaching strategies and instruction.
Brock's teaching staff provide experiential learning which includes the following three "R's": Relationships - Students are engaged with staff and each other in respectful and purposeful relationships; Relevance - The curriculum is about today's world and we encourage students to take an active part in their learning; Rigor - Students are given flexibility and choice in their studies and then encouraged to "go deep" in their learning.
We are connected to many community agencies and services. Little Mountain Neighborhood House, Riley Park Community Centre, Science World and Family Services provide many extra-curricular programs for our students. At Brock we are proud of our after-school, music and sports programs.
We are pleased that Brock is known for its dynamic and vibrant community. Our parents play a vital role in our childrens' education. Parents manage our Safe Arrival Program, Popcorn Wednesday Camp Fundraiser, Healthy Snacks Program, Multicultural Night are well as our community Burger and Brew evenings. Parents also spend endless hours assisting us on a daily basis.
